Sprinklers Extinguish Fire at O.C. Warehouse

OCEAN CITY, Md.- A fire at the Town of Ocean City's Service Center Warehouse was quickly put out, thanks to fire sprinklers.

According to the Town of Ocean City, the fire broke out just before 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 22.

The town said the Ocean City Fire Department responded to an automatic fire alarm at the warehouse on 65th St.

Town officials said when firefighters arrived at the scene, they found the 12,000 square foot vehicle garage area filled with smoke.

According to town officials, the service call was upgraded to a building fire. Firefighters said two sprinkler heads were activated, extinguishing the bulk of the fire before the fire department arrived.

The Ocean City Fire Marshal's Office said the fire was caused by a machine malfunction.

The town said the cause of the fire was classified as accidental.

Town officials said the building was not occupied at the time of the fire.
