Dover Teen Arrested After Wednesday Night Robbery

DOVER, Del. – The Dover Police Department is investigating a robbery in which officers say the victim was threatened outside a supermarket.

According to police, the incident happened shortly before 7:30 p.m. Wednesday when a 34-year-old man was walking westbound on South Little Creek Road in the area of the Safeway.

Officers said two young men approached the man and threatened to shoot him if he did not stop. Police said the suspects took cash from the victim and ran away.

When police arrived, they arrested one suspect identified as 19-year-old Malik Washington of Dover, according to police.

Washington was arrested and charged with robbery, conspiracy and terroristic threatening. Police say he was committed to JTVCC in default of $2,500 secured bond.
