Dover Fugitive Arrested on Firearm, Drug Charges

DOVER, Del.- A Dover fugitive wanted on firearm and drugs was arrested after a brief chase Monday afternoon.

According to the Dover Police Department, officers attempted to stop 23-year-old Dandre Chandler around 4:45 p.m. while he was driving in the area of Kenton Road. Chandler ran from the car, but police said he was quickly caught.

According to police, Chandler was wanted on the following charges, stemming from a search warrant during a drug investigation on Nov. 9:

  • Possession of firearm by person prohibited (2x)
  • Possession of ammunition by person prohibited
  • Possession with intent to deliver heroin
  • Possession of heroin
  • Possession of a weapon with obliterated serial number
  • Receiving a stolen firearm
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia

Once Chandler was arrested, police say they found him with 8.12 grams of heroin. He was charged with the following additional offenses and committed to JTVCC on $79,750 cash bail:

  • Possession of heroin
  • Possession with intent to deliver heroin
  • Resisting arrest
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia
  • Criminal mischief
