Police Look For Four Men in Lincoln Home Invasion and Shooting

LINCOLN, Del. (AP/WBOC)- Delaware State Police say a 24-year-old man was shot during an apparent robbery at a house in Lincoln.

Police said the incident happened at around 11 p.m. Saturday when four men entered the unlocked front door of the home located on West Mayhew Drive, in Cedar Creek Estates. Troopers said two of the men focused on five family members on the main floor, holding them at gunpoint according to police.  Police said the other two suspects went to the basement and confronted a 41-year-old woman, and tried to take her cellphone.  

Police said two of the suspects then entered a bedroom where the 24-year-old man was took his cellphone and laptop.  Police said the family's dogs began attacking the four men, and while the suspects were fighting the dogs off, one of the family members pushed the armed robber down the stairs.  Police said the man fired two shots, one which hit a wall, and the other struck the 24-year-old in the lower body. Police said the four suspects then ran out of the home and fled in an unknown direction.

The victim was taken to Milford Memorial Hospital, where he was treated for his injuries and released.

The suspects are described as four black males wearing hooded sweatshirts with bandanas covering their faces.  There is no other description available for the suspects.

The investigation into this incident by Delaware State Police Major Crimes Unit detectives is continuing.
