ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP)- Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan and University of Pittsburgh running back James Conner - both of whom have been treated for cancer - posed together at the Military Bowl.
Hogan said last month that he was "100 percent cancer free" after receiving aggressive chemotherapy treatment for non-Hodgkin lymphoma.
Conner recently announced that he has Hodgkin lymphoma. He began receiving treatment earlier this month.
Conner has not played since tearing the MCL in his right knee during the first week of this season, but joined the Panthers on the sideline Monday for their Military Bowl matchup against Navy.
During a timeout in the second quarter, Hogan and Conner were brought together to address the crowd.
Hogan said he told Conner, "He's going to come out of this stronger than ever."
