Md. Lottery Looking for Berlin $1 Million Winner

Posted: Updated:

BERLIN, Md. - There were no jackpot winners in Saturday's $950 million Powerball drawing, but the first $1 million winner in Maryland in 2016 bought their ticket in Berlin.

According to a Maryland Lottery spokesperson, they are looking for the lucky player who bought a winning second-tier ticket in Worcester County.

The ticket was purchased at the Food Lion on Old Ocean City Blvd.

For selling the ticket, lottery officials said the Food Lion will receive a $2,500 bonus.

The winner has 182 days to claim the prize in person at Lottery headquarters in Baltimore.

The jackpot in Saturday's drawing was the biggest price in US Lottery history, and now $1.3 billion is on the line Wednesday. The odds of winning are one in 292 million.
