Dover Man Arrested For String of Armed Robberies

DOVER, Del. - The Dover Police Department arrested 27-year-old Leslie Spady for a string of armed robberies, dating back to December. Spady was caught immediately after a committing an armed robbery at Lepore's Liquors on Thursday night.  

Spady entered the business just after 8:00 p.m., and displayed a handgun, demanding money from the clerk. The clerk agreed, placing money from the register into a pillowcase. Police said that Spady then ran away from the store.  

Patrol officers and a detective immediately responded, and began searching the area for the suspect, when the detective observed Spady running southbound on Sunset Drive with a white pillowcase in hand. Spady was taken into custody without incident by the detective.  

Spady was found to be in possession of the cash from the liquor store robbery, as well as a black BB gun that resembled a regular handgun.

As a result of his capture, Spady was also charged in the following robberies:

- 7-11 on 654 N. DuPont Highway on December 27th, 2015
- Driftwood Spirits on 153 S. Bradford Street on December 29th, 2015
- Super 9 Liquors on 348 N. DuPont Highway on January 1st
