SALISBURY, Md.- The Powerball jackpot has grown to an astounding $1.5 Billion for Wednesday night's drawing. The odds of winning the largest jackpot in Powerball history is one in 292.2 million.

A steady stream of people were in and out of local lottery stores in the area buying their last minute tickets for a chance to win the jackpot. Wednesday's drawing may be the pinnacle of this Powerball mania, unless no one wins.

Clarence Miller lives in Salisbury and said this Powerball jackpot is, "Unreal." Clarence said his strategy to win this Powerball jackpot is to play birthdates.

Daryl Mullen stopped into the store on his way to work and said, "I would love to be a billionaire winner today, but I'm not playing the Powerball." Mullen said he'd have a better chance being struck by lightening and didn't want to waste his money.

7-Eleven cashier Rochelle Teagle said she's been working the lottery register for most of the week and said the odds haven't seemed to deter a lot of people from playing.

"It's been absolutely crazy. Everybody's in here buying Powerball; random amounts, random tickets, specific numbers. It's been very busy," Teagle said.
