LINKWOOD, Md.- Authorities say a 20-year-old Preston man was arrested over the weekend after a sheriff's deputy found drugs in his overturned truck.

According to the Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office, a deputy was called Saturday to the scene of a truck in a ditch on Linkwood Road near Route 50.

The deputy arrived to find Jacob Childers inside a Nissan pickup that was off the road and on its side, according to investigators.

The sheriff's office said Childers was found to be in possession of marijuana, a smoking device, scales and Aplprazolam without a prescription.

He was arrested and charged with possession of paraphernalia and a controlled substance, as well as issued a civil citation for possession of marijuana under 10 grams.

The sheriff's office said he was released by a court commissioner.
