HURLOCK, Md.- A Mardela Springs man is facing attempted murder and related charges following accusations that he repeatedly stabbed a Hurlock man with a knife during a fight.

Anthony R. Strawberry, 39, was arrested Thursday, Jan. 14 after police responded to an apartment on Gold Rush Lane in Hurlock. Officers from the Hurlock Police Department and deputies from the Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office discovered 26-year-old Jamar Terell Womack on the ground bleeding from stab wounds to the torso area as well as face and head.

Shortly after the victim was airlifted to the hospital, officers said they found Strawberry inside the apartment. He was taken into custody and charged with second-degree attempted murder, first- and second-degree assault, reckless endangerment, and opening wear and carry a knife/dangerous weapon with purpose to cause injury.

The cause of the fight is still under investigation, according to police.

Strawberry was ordered held in the Dorchester County Detention Center in lieu of $600,000 bond.
