EASTON, Md.- Police arrested an Easton man after a robbery Saturday night.

Easton Police were called to the area of South Street and Aurora Street Saturday night for a reported robbery. When officers arrived, a man told police he got into a fight with someone at a party on Talbot Lane, and his cell phone was stolen.

The man told police he left the party after the fight but says the other man, 32-year-old Norman Carter, showed up at his house later and offered to give him his phone back for $100. He told police he paid the money, and the was attacked by Carter again. He told police he grabbed a box cutter to protect himself, and cut Carter's hand. The man says Carter then went back to the home on Talbot Lane.

Police found Carter hiding in a bathroom at the home and arrested him. Police took Carter, the alleged victim and a witness back to the Easton Police Department to investigate further.

Carter was charged upon further investigation with home invasion, robbery, assault 2ND-degree, and theft under $1,000. Carter was processed at the Easton Police Department and subsequently he was taken before a District Court Commissioner for an Initial Appearance Hearing. At that time he was remanded to the Talbot County Detention Center on a bond of $75,000.
