LAUREL, Del.- Laurel police say a traffic stop led to the arrest of a Bridgeville man for his sixth DUI offense.

According to police, William Terry, 51, was stopped for traveling 78 mph in a 55 mph zone on Jan. 11. Officers said they observed that Terry was driving while under the influence of an alcoholic beverage.

Following his arrest, police said officers determined that Terry had been convicted of five previous DUI offenses. According to police, the vehicle Terry was driving did not have an automobile ignition interlock device, which he is required to have.

Following his arrest on the aforementioned charge, Terry was ordered held in the Sussex Correctional Institution in default of a secured bond.
