2nd Passenger in Milford Van Crash Dies

Posted: Updated:

MILFORD, Del. (AP) - Delaware State Police say another passenger injured in a van crash in Milford has died.

Troopers said in a news release Monday that 29-year-old Virginio Lopez of Milford died Saturday at Christiana Hospital, where he was flown after Thursday's crash.

Police say 37-year-old Julio Garcia of Milford was driving the van south on Bay Road when the vehicle drifted into the median and hit a road sign.

Officers say Garcia overcorrected, drove off the road and hit a tree.

Troopers say 31-year-old Ruben Martinez of Milford, a passenger, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities say Garcia was treated and released at a local hospital.

The crash is under investigation.
