CAPE MAY, N.J. (AP) - Passenger and vehicle traffic have grown for the second year in a row on the Cape May-Lewes Ferry.

The vessels transported 782,241 passengers and 266,149 vehicles between New Jersey and Delaware in 2015. That compares to 767,209 passengers and 262,010 vehicles in 2014.

The Delaware River and Bay Authority attributes the boost in ridership to a recovering economy, lower gas prices, greater awareness and favorable weather.

The agency also says it is working to increase bicycle traffic in the region.
