Fire Severely Damages Milford Home

MILFORD, Del.- Firefighters say no one is injured and a house is severely damaged after a fire Tuesday night. 

According to Carlisle Fire Company Chief Duane Fox, Jr., firefighters responded to the blaze at a home in the 7000 block of Shawnee Rd. just before 9 p.m. Tuesday. 

Firefighters said everyone inside the home managed to get out in time and was not injured. 

Crews said it took them about three-and-a-half hours to extinguish the fire.

Other stations that responded to the house fire include the Frederica, Houston, Harrington, Felton, Ellendale and Bowers Fire Companies. 

Chief Fox said the fire caused extensive damage to the home. No word yet on the cost of the damage.

The Delaware State Fire Marshal's Office is investigating the cause of the fire.
