REHOBOTH BEACH, Del.- Firefighters battled two house fires in less than 13 hours in Rehoboth Beach, according to the Rehoboth Beach Volunteer Fire Company.

The fire company said it received a call late Monday night about a house fire on Bayard Avenue. Firefighters battled the flames in frigid temperatures. According to the fire company officials, there was heavy fire reported when they arrived on scene. Crews from the Milton, Lewes, Bethany Beach and Millville volunteer fire companies assisted with putting out the fire.

One firefighter from Lewes received minor injuries while on scene to put out the fire, officials said.

About 13 hours later, the Rehoboth Beach Fire Company received a call about another house fire on Pennsylvania Avenue in Rehoboth Beach. The same fire companies were on hand to help.

Officials said a Rehoboth firefighter fell through the burning floor, but he did not sustain any injuries.
