DOVER, Del.- Delaware State Police have arrested a 48-year-old Dover man accused of robbing another man at knifepoint outside the Royal Farms store on Route 10.

Police said the incident occurred shortly before 3 p.m. Sunday as a 58-year-old man was walking out of the Royal Farms located at 6 West Lebanon Road after using the ATM inside.  Troopers said that as the victim began to open the driver’s side door to his car, a male suspect approached him with a knife and told him to give him all his money.  The victim took a couple steps backwards before the suspect physically removed the cash from his hand and began running westbound on Lebanon Road, according to police. The victim was uninjured in the incident, according to investigators.

The Kent County Emergency Operations Center (9-1-1) broadcast the description of the suspect over the radio and a trooper in the immediate area of the Royal Farms was able to observe a man matching the description given running westbound in the area of Stone Ridge Development.  Police said the trooper parked his patrol vehicle and began walking the area of where the suspect was last seen and observed a single set of footprints in the snow, which led directly to a house within the development.  Upon knocking on the door, the trooper made contact with a woman who told her that her son had just run into the house moments before, police said. Police said the trooper was able to take the suspect, identified as Dominic Boston, into custody without incident and located a black pocket knife in his pants pocket, along with the clothing he had just been wearing, which he had just stashed in the laundry room.

Boston was transported back to Troop 3 where he was charged with first-degree robbery and possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony.  He was ordered held in the James T. Vaughn Correctional Center on $40,000 secured bond.
