MILFORD, Del. (AP/WBOC)- Authorities say a Milford sex offender has been arrested and he's facing charges after he was found living next to a school.

Sgt. Dwight Young said that officers responded to 33-year-old Paul E. Herman's home on North Walnut Street after receiving a tip that he was living in the basement of the dwelling, located near Milford High School.

Police said in a news release that Herman was arrested on Jan. 9 and charged with failure to re-register as a sex offender and residing within 500 feet of a school property.

Young said Herman was also wanted on a warrant from Sussex County Superior Court.

Online jail records show he is being held at Sussex Correctional Institution in Georgetown. It isn't immediately clear if Herman has an attorney.
