DOVER, Del. (AP)- The state House is set to vote on a bill that allows Delaware officials to intercept income tax refunds of people who have not paid their school and property taxes.

Currently, state law prohibits school taxes from being collected by tax intercept, a method that has been used to collect outstanding child support and other obligations owed to the state.

Sponsors of the bill to be voted on Tuesday note that millions of dollars of property taxes are owed to Delaware school districts and local governments, with some $32 million in unpaid taxes over the past five years.
