Laurel Police Arrest Three Following Lengthy Investigation

LAUREL, De.- Police searched Carvel Gardens Apartments in Laurel on Friday, making three arrests following what they are calling a lengthy investigation.

36 year old Joy Johnson, 30 year old Derrick Johnson, and 28 year old Michael McCray were arrested.  Laurel Police say Mr. and Ms. Johnson were selling heroin out of their apartment.  

Joy and Derrick Johnson are each facing the following charges:

-Manufactures, Delivers, or Possession w/intent to manufacture, deliver a controlled substance (Heroin)

-Possession of a Controlled Substance in a Tier 1 Quantity (Heroin)

-Possession of Marijuana

-Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (3 counts)

Joy Johnson is also facing the charge of maintaining a drug property.

Michael McCray was arrested for three outstanding warrants from Sussex County for failure to pay fines.

Joy Johnson was released on $16,700 unsecured bond and a future court date.  Derrick Johnson was committed to Sussex Correctional Institute in default of a $13,700 secured bond.  McCray was released on a $2,499.50 unsecured bond and a future court date.
