PRINCESS ANNE, Md.-  Deputy State Fire Marshals charged 26-year-old Jamar Pittman with multiple arson related charges stemming from a domestic incident.

Firefighters responded to a one-alarm fire at a home on Bardwell Drive. The Princess Anne Volunteer Fire Department quickly controlled the porch fire within five minutes.

Investigators determined Pittman intentionally set the front porch on fire when he used an ignitable liquid and lit a comforter draped over the hand rail of the porch. The fire caused approximately $550 in damage.

The Maryland State Police Fugitive Task Force took Pittman into custody without incident Sunday morning. He was transported to the Somerset County Detention Center where he remains on a $350,000 bond.

Pittman is charged with 1st-degree arson, 2nd-degree arson, 2nd-degree burglary, 2nd-degree attempted assault, 4th-degree burglary, reckless endangerment, 2nd-degree malicious burning, and malicious destruction of property.

If found guilty of all charges, Pittman faces a penalty of up to 84 years imprisonment and/or $88,000 in fines for these offenses.
