MARYDEL, Md.- 3 people were charged when deputies responded to a reported heroin overdose.

According to the Caroline County Sheriff's Office, it happened Jan. 13 on Marydel Rd. at Templeville Rd.

Deputies said a 911 caller said Shawn Lituski had reportedly overdosed on heroin and was possibly unresponsive at the time of the call.

The sheriff's office said EMS and police units arrived to find Lituski revived and walking around.

Deputies said they found heroin at the scene and charged Litusky, William Smith, Jr. and Robert Smith.

According to deputies, the three suspects were taken into custody for Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance.

The sheriff's office said Lituski was held on $40,000 bond. They said the Smith brothers were released on their personal recognizance.

Deputies said while Lituski was in custody, he was also charged for an incident that happened on Dec. 20 in Hillsboro. The sheriff's office said he is charged with several counts of burglary, theft and malicious destruction of property linked to that incident.
