Fire at Selbyville Home Causes $1.1M in Damage

SELBYVILLE, Del. - Multiple fire companies had a busy Monday afternoon as they responded to a massive house fire in Selbyville.

According to the Office of the State Fire Marshal, the fire was reported at around 11:55 a.m. in the 38000 block on Bayberry Lane. Firefighters from Roxana, Bethany Beach, Ocean City, Millville and Selbyville arrived to find heavy fire showing from the two-story home.

Fire officials say one person was home when the fire broke out and refused treatment for a minor injury.

Total damage is estimated at about $1,100,100, according to the fire marshal's office. The cause and origin of the fire are still under investigation.
