SALISBURY, Md.- The Wicomico County Sheriff's Office arrested a 31-year-old Fruitland man on burglary charges.

Deputies said Brinton Brittingham was arrested Jan. 30 in connection with a burglary that happened in Jordan Ct. in Salisbury.

According to the sheriff's office, Brittingham forced his way inside a home that same day that he believed to be unoccupied.

The sheriff's office said while Brittingham was inside the home, he spotted one of the people living there and quickly ran out of the house.

Before he ran away, deputies said Brittingham stole gold jewelry from a bedroom.

According to deputies, an investigation led them to Brittingham and he was in custody before the end of the day.

Deputies said he was processed and taken in front of the District Court Commissioner.

Following an initial appearance, the sheriff's office said the Commissioner detained Brittingham in the Detention Center on $100,000 bond. They said that bond was later upheld at bond review.

Deputies said Brittingham was charged with 1st Degree Burglary.
