Large Amount of Marijuana Discovered During Easton Traffic Stop

EASTON, Md. - Easton Police discovered a large quantity of marijuana during an early-morning traffic stop.

According to police, an officer stopped a 1997 Nissan Maxima just after 3 a.m. Wednesday along Ocean Gateway near High Street for operating without a tag light. During the stop, the officer detected a strong odor of marijuana. According to police, officers did a search of the car and discovered six pounds of marijuana and just over $4,000 in a suitcase laying on the backseat of the car.

Both the driver and the passenger of the car were traveling through Easton from Modesto, California, police said.

Jesus Alcantar-Cisneros, 21, was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana, possession with intent to distribute. He was committed to the Talbot County Detention Center on $20,000 bond.  

Christian Giovanni Rivera, 18, was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana, possession with intent to distribute, possession of Codeine and the removal of prescription labels. Rivera was committed to the Talbot County Detention Center on $15,000 bond.
