WEST OCEAN CITY, Md.- A community theater in West Ocean City will be auctioned soon after months of being closed after the owner was charged with child pornography.

David Weatherholtz of West Ocean City, who owned OC Jamboree, was arrested early last year and is awaiting trial after he was federally indicted on charges of producing and possessing child pornography and attempting to entice minors for sex.

The United States District Court appointed Gray & Associates, LLC as the receiver for the property. In a statement provided to WBOC partner Richard Gray said the firm is seeking authority through the court to hold a public auction sale of the property.

When the business closed abruptly in March after Weatherholtz's arrest, many people wondered if it would reopen. Local business owner, Stephan Kenny said he would like to see a family oriented business occupy the property.

"I'm excited that it's finally going to auction because then somebody will be taking over that property and doing something positive with it, and West Ocean City is a pretty big area, a growth area," Kenny said.

According to Richard Gray, no date for the auction has been set until the court returns its decision on the motion filed.
