Fire Officials: Salisbury House Fire Set Intentionally During Burglary

SALISBURY, Md. - Police and fire officials are investigating a burglary and fire at a vacant home in Salisbury.

According to the Maryland State Fire Marshal's Office, a caretaker discovered the fire shortly after 3 p.m. Wednesday at the home located at 507 N. Pinehurst Ave.

The fire marshal's office said the incident involved the burglary of the vacant home, with multiple origins of fire in the living and dining rooms on the first floor of the house. Damage is estimated at about $1,100.

The Salisbury Police Department is assisting with the investigation. Anyone with information should contact the Lower Eastern Regional Office of the State Fire Marshal at (410) 713-3780 or the Arson Tip Line at 1-800-492-7529.
