SALISBURY, Md. - Albert "Ab" Clark of Salisbury hit the century mark on Friday.  Clark was born February 12, 1916 making Friday his 100th birthday.

On the milestone day in his life, WBOC stopped by for a short visit with Clark to find out what keeps him young.  Clark said even at 100, he continues to do the things he loves on a daily basis, including something as simple as driving.

"If they stop me from driving, that'd be the end of me.  I just love driving," Clark said Friday.

Clark said he first started driving in the late 1930's behind the wheel of a poultry truck.  It wasn't long after that until Clark got his very first car.

"My first car was a Dodge, that was in 1937.  Oh, it was pretty.  Oh, I loved that," said Clark.

His current car most likely cost a few dollars more than that brand new 1937 Dodge that Clark said he bought for just $695.  Clark also said back in those days, he saved a few more dollars on gas as well the price at just 16 cents a gallon.

Clark said his secret to a long life truly revolves around doing the things he loves like driving, cooking, and just never slowing down.

"Travel.  Keep going, don't sit down.  Live everyday to the fullest because tomorrow is not promised to you.  Get out there and get with it."

Clark is originally from Millsboro and Saturday there will be a birthday party for him at the Millsboro Civic Center with a few hundred guests expected to come and celebrate with him.
