Md. Police Investigating Pedestrian Death on Route 50

CENTREVILLE, Md. - Maryland State Police are investigating car crash on Route 50 that left a pedestrian dead. Preliminary reports suggest it was due to pedestrian error.

Police said it happened shortly before 10 p.m. Saturday on Route 50 eastbound and mile marker 55.

According to police, 37-year-old Karen Newton of Easton was driving east on Route 50 when she struck the pedestrian in lane 2.

The pedestrian was later identified as 34-year-old Mason Larrimore of Centreville. Police said he was transported to Easton Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Any charges in this incident are still pending further investigation.
