DOVER, Del.- Troopers are investigating a home invasion that happened south of Dover late Saturday night.

Delaware State Police say it happened around 11:15 p.m. on the 4000 block of Rhode Island Drive in the Eagle Meadows development.

Police say a 22-year-old woman heard a knock at the front door and when she opened it, she was confronted by two black men armed with handguns.

According to police, the two men then forced their way into the house and held the woman and two other people in the house at gunpoint, while they let another suspect in the house through a back door.

Police say the three men demanded money and when one of the victims said there was none, one of the suspects pistol whipped her across the face.  Troopers say the suspects took all three of the victims' cell phones and an undisclosed amount of cash before running away.

The woman who initially answered the door then left the house and went to a nearby relative's home. Police say she was later treated for non-life-threatening injuries.  Another woman who was inside the house at the time called 9-1-1. Police say they have yet to interview the third victim, who left the house after the incident.

The three suspects were all described as a black males, between 16-22 years of age.

Detectives have determined through preliminary interviews and investigation that this was not a random act and believe the victims may have been targeted in the home invasion.
