SALISBURY, Md. - As the renovations are coming to an end at the old Feldman's building in downtown Salisbury, three Salisbury businesses are ready to move in.

Crews have been working on renovating the Feldman's building on Market Street since September of 2014.  The building was constructed in the late 1800's and is now getting a face-lift to be a part of the ongoing process to revitalize downtown Salisbury.

The Acorn Market shared on its facebook page Wednesday that it would be moving to the old Feldman's building which will be known as the Riverview Commons.  Christine Braughler is an owner at The Acorn Market and believes downtown Salisbury is the place to be to expand her business.

"The energy that's downtown.  The environment, it's all growing.  We want to take part in that and we know that it will be successful," said Braughler on Friday.

The Riverview Commons is just a few feet away from the downtown Salisbury plaza.  Business owners on the plaza, like Martha Ogburn, who owns the Barefoot Baby Boutique, is looking forward to the foot traffic traveling from the Commons to the plaza.

"Oh definitely, definitely," Ogburn said.  If people come to the Acorn Market, then they can come right up and see me."

The owners of Acorn Market hope to be up and running in early May.  The other two tenants moving into the Riverview Commons are Morgan Stanley, which is moving to the top floor, and Angello's Unique Gifts, currently on the downtown plaza, will be in the commons as well.

'Ghost Pots' Hurting Chesapeake Bay's Blue Crab Population

Crabbing season is well underway, and that means hundreds of thousands of crab pots are in the Chesapeake Bay catching blue crabs.

Every morning during crabbing season, you can see watermen gathering up their pots, collecting their catch, and putting the pots back in the water. What you cannot see is the problem: pots that have had their lines severed sit on the bay's bottom, sometimes never seen again, along with the crabs inside them.
