Seven Shot Dead in Kalamazoo, Michigan Area, Suspect Arrested

KALAMAZOO, Mich. (AP) - Police say they have apprehended a suspect in a series of random shootings in the Kalamazoo, Michigan area that left seven people dead.
    
Kalamazoo County Undersheriff Paul Matyas says that a 45-year-old man was detained in downtown Kalamazoo.
    
Matyas says the man did not resist when approached by law enforcement officers and that weapons were found in the man's vehicle.
    
Matyas says "The threat to the public is over. We now have our suspect."
    
The shootings took place on Saturday evening in parking lots at three locations - a Cracker Barrel restaurant, a Ford dealership and an apartment complex.
