Fire Damages Vacant Home Near Pittsville

PITTSVILLE, Md.- Authorities are investigating a Tuesday morning fire that damaged a vacant home outside of Pittsville. 

The Maryland State Fire Marshal's Office said the blaze broke out at around 7 a.m. at the two-story home located at 9326 S. Fork Road. It took 12 firefighters from the Pittsville, Willards and Gumboro fire companies approximately an hour to get the fire under control.

There were no reported injuries. The fire reportedly caused $5,000 in damage to the structure.

Deputy state fire marshals are still searching for the fire's cause and area of origin. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call the Salisbury Office of the Maryland State Fire Marshal's Office at (410) 713-3780.
