WESTOVER, Md.- Maryland State Police say an Easton woman used condoms in an attempt to smuggle tobacco and synthetic marijuana into Eastern Correctional Institution.

Troopers said 23-year-old Jordan Scheminant was arrested after the contraband was discovered at ECI just before noon Tuesday.

According to police, Scheminant tried to deliver condoms full of 142 grams of tobacco and 111 grams of suspected synthetic marijuana to an inmate at the facility.

Troopers said the Easton woman left ECI after the contraband was recovered by correctional officers.

Police said troopers from the Princess Anne Barrack located and stopped Scheminant's car on Route 13 in Princess Anne.

According to police, Scheminant was arrested and charged with delivering contraband to a correctional facility and was taken before a District Court Commissioner.

Scheminant was released on $5,000 unsecured bond from the commissioner's office.

Police said the investigation is continuing in cooperation with the Department of Corrections.
