CENTREVILLE, Md.- Investigators say an electrical malfunction is to blame for an early Tuesday morning fire that caused tens of thousands of dollars in damage to a home in Centreville.

The Maryland State Fire Marshal's Office said the blaze broke out at around 2:30 a.m. at a two story multi-family home located at 101 S. Liberty St.

It took 50 firefighters from the Centreville Volunteer Fire Department approximately 45 minutes to get the fire under control.

The fire caused an estimated $50,000 in damage to the structure and another $10,000 in damage to is contents. There were no reported injuries.

Investigators said the fire started in an electrical meter on an outside wall of the home, which is owned by Callahan Property Developers.
