Police: Md. State Trooper Arrested After Punching Wife in Face

Posted: Updated:

CAMBRIDGE, Md.- A Maryland state trooper from Delmar has been suspended following his arrest on accusations that he punched his wife in the face at a Cambridge hotel.

Kenneth Moore, 46, was charged by the Cambridge Police Department on Saturday with one count of assault. WBOC has now obtained charging documents that describe the incident.

The documents show Moore's wife called police from the Hyatt Regency around 9:15 p.m., saying her husband had punched her.

When officers arrived, they say she was crying and her clothes were covered in blood, but Moore had left the scene. His wife told responding officers that she and her husband had gotten into an argument at a bar, and he punched her after they returned to their hotel room, according to documents.

According to documents, Moore showed up to the Cambridge Police Department a short time later and cooperated with officers.

Maryland State Police say Moore is currently on paid leave while they conduct their own investigation.
