DOVER, Del.- Delaware State Police have arrested the son of a man killed in a Dover home invasion.

Troopers said they arrested 21-year-old Jacob H. Leager on Thursday on manslaughter charges after he chased the home intruders and fatally shot a woman.

Police said Leager and his 52-year-old father, Clifton Leager, were shot by suspects who invaded their home on John Clark Road in the Rodney Village neighborhood of Dover in October 2015. Clifton Leager died as a result.

Troopers said Jacob Leager then picked up a handgun that was dropped by the intruders - whom police identified as Saleem Shabazz and Matthew Harrington - and chased after them to the area where they had parked their car. He fired a shot into the vehicle, killing an 18-year-old woman named Haley Henwood of Philadelphia.

Following his arrest, Jacob Leager was ordered held in the Sussex Correctional Institution on $60,000 secured bond.

Shabazz is currently being held in Howard R. Young Correctional Institution without bail and Harrington is being held in Montgomery County Correctional Facility pending extradition back to Delaware. 5
