Milford Man Charged in Grocery Store Robbery

MILFORD, Del.- Milford police have arrested a Milton man accused of robbing a Redner's grocery store.  

According to police, on March 14 Christopher Farrell, 25, attempted to steal merchandise from the store without paying for it. As Farrell was leaving, police said he was contacted by a store employee. In an attempt to flee with the merchandise, police say Farrell struck the employee in the face.

Officers searched nearby wooded areas and neighborhoods for Farrell. He was spotted by witnesses several times banging on doors of local residents and attempting to use their telephones, according to police. Officers arrested Farrell at a local business where he was attempting to use the business phone, police said. 

Farrell was charged with second-degree robberyand offensive touching. He was also wanted by the Delaware State Police on vehicle theft arrest warrants and also had an active capias out of Kent County Superior Court, according to investigators. He was ordered held in default of a $6,500 secured bond.
