Posted: Updated:

RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - The policy-making body for Virginia's colleges and universities is planning two days of meetings in Gloucester Point and Williamsburg.

Three committees of the State Council of Higher Education in Virginia will meet Monday at the Virginia Institute of Marine Science. Members will discuss two proposed new programs - neuroscience at Virginia Tech and master of laws at George Mason University - before touring the marine science institute in Gloucester Point.

Then it's on to Williamsburg for the council's regular business meeting Tuesday at the College of William & Mary. The agenda includes an update on progress toward the council's strategic plan for postsecondary education in the state.
