NEWARK, Del. (AP)- Newark police say they do not suspect foul play in the death of a man who fell off the roof of an off-campus fraternity house at the University of Delaware.

Willem Golden, 20, a freshman at Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, N.Y., died Saturday.

Authorities said Monday that Golden, from Cohasset, Mass., was a guest at the residence and went onto the roof by himself shortly before 4 p.m. Saturday. Investigators said the roof was wet from a light rain, and that witnesses said Golden appeared to have slipped and fallen.

No foul play is suspected.

The house is associated with members of Sigma Pi fraternity.

A  university spokeswoman said Monday that the house is not a registered fraternity house, but that members of the fraternity live there and have hosted rush events in the past at that location. She also noted that it is not uncommon for members of a fraternity or sorority to live in a rental house together, and that because of Newark zoning ordinances that prohibit fraternity houses, most UD fraternities do not have registered houses.

UD spokeswoman Andrea Boyle said the fraternity was not under investigation.
