DENTON, Md. - A Denton home is badly damaged after an early morning fire whose cause is still under investigation.

According to the Office of the State Fire Marshal, the Denton Volunteer Fire Company responded to the fire at 25126 Smith Landing Road shortly after 4:30 a.m. Thursday.

The crew had the fire out within 15 minutes, but fire officials say it still caused about $100,000 worth of damage to the single family home.

According to state fire marshals, the fire started from an exterior wall of the home.
