DOVER, Del.- The body of Sr. Airman Keifer Huhman, who has been missing since February 7, has been found.

The Dover Police Department confirmed Friday that a body was found early Thursday afternoon on the banks of the C&D Canal. Master Cpl. Mark Hoffman confirmed that the medical examiner has positively identified the body as Keifer Huhman.

DNREC Police Sgt. John McDerby said their officers were dispatched Thursday afternoon when a person found the body on the side of the canal.

"We will be bringing him to Pensacola for his final resting place at Barrancas National Cemetery," his father, Kenneth Huhman, posted on Facebook. "Thank you everyone for your support...Thank you for bringing my son home."

WBOC previously reported Huhman's truck was found on the northbound shoulder of the Rte. 1 bridge above the C&D Canal. The Dover Police Department was leading the investigation, and DNREC Police was actively searching for the airman.

The 436th Airlift Wing commander announced in early March that Huhman had been declared deceased.

The Air Force held a memorial service for Huhman on March 11 at Dover Air Force Base.
