RIDGELY, Md. - State fire officials are investigating two fires in Ridgely that caused damage to a house and a shed last week.

According to the Office of the State Fire Marshal, the first one happened on Thursday around 6 p.m. at a single family home located at 24882 Riverview Way. Fire officials say the fire started in an exterior trash can and caused about $5,000 in damage.

The state fire marshal's office says the second fire happened Saturday just after 3:30 a.m. at a shed located at 11985 River Road. Fire officials say the fire started inside the shed, which belongs to Vernon Hood, and caused about $10,000 in damage.

No injuries were reported in either fire. Fire officials are still investigating the cause of both fires. Anyone with information should contact the Upper Eastern Regional Office of the Maryland State Fire Marshal at 410-822-7609.
