EASTON, Md.- Police are searching for a suspected thief after they say a $2,300 diamond necklace was stolen from an Easton jeweler.

Easton police said a 14-karaot, white gold, diamond and sapphire necklace was stolen from Westphal Jewelers on Harrison Street in Easton back on March 22. Through an investigation, police believe the necklace was stolen some time between 10:30 and 11 a.m.

Police are looking for a person of interest who was in the store around that time. They say he is described as a white male, about 60-years-old, roughly 5-foot-7, with short and unkept gray hair. Police said the man was last seen wearing blue jeans and a multi-colored plaid button-down shirt.
