POCOMOKE, Md. – A Pocomoke man was arrested after police said he pointed a revolver at two land surveyors who approached his home.

According to police, two land surveyors knocked on Larry Ward’s front door to ask his permission to use a road on his property to access a piece of wooded property adjacent to his. Police said when Ward came out of his home, he pointed a revolver at the head of one of the surveyors and yelled for them to get off his property.

The two surveyors got in their vehicle and started to drive away while Ward fired two shots into the air, police said. The surveyors called deputies from the Worcester County Sheriff’s office who went to Ward’s home. The sheriff’s office said Ward was not cooperative with deputies and was placed under arrest. Detectives responded to Ward’s property and executed a search warrant, where they discovered a revolver with two fired casings, police said.

Ward was charged with first degree assault and reckless endangerment. He was taken before a District Court Commissioner who released him on a $50,000 unsecured bond.
