Police Investigating Deadly Crash on Route 404

TALBOT COUNTY, Md.- Maryland State Police are investigating a deadly crash that happened in Talbot County Friday night.

Police say it happened on Route 404 at Church Lane around 10 p.m.

According to State Police, two cars were involved in the head-on collision. Police say 29-year-old Joshua Royal of North Carolina crossed the center line, and hit another car. Police say the driver of that car died, but police have not yet released his identity. Royal was flown to Shock Trauma.

Police say Royal was intoxicated at the time of the crash.

The road was closed between Route 309 and Route 50, and police said it would likely be closed for several hours.

Police are still investigating this deadly crash.
