VIOLA, Del.- Authorities say a Monday morning fire that heavily damaged a house trailer near Viola was deliberately set.

According to the Delaware State Fire Marshal’s Office, members of the Felton Community Fire Company responded to the 3800 block of Turkey Point Road shortly before 10:00 am for a 9-1-1 call from a passing motorist reporting the trailer on fire.  Fire engulfed the trailer as firefighters arrived on the scene, investigators.

Heavy fire damage was estimated at $25,000.  There were no reported injuries.

Deputy fire marshals are conducting a criminal investigation after determining the fire was arson. They said it was intentionally started inside the trailer.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (800) TIP-3333.
