SNOW HILL, Md.- A 60-year-old man has been indicted for manslaughter in connection with a February crash that killed a Worcester County employee.

The Worcester County State's Attorney's Office announced Thursday that a grand jury indicted Marion Marine Jones for manslaughter, criminal negligence, negligent driving and reckless driving in connection with the death of 48-year-old Scott Patrick Tatterson of Pocomoke City.

The crash happened on Feb. 22 on Greenbackville Road near Ticktown Road. Investigators with the Worcester County Sheriff's Office said Jones was operating a 2010 Kia southbound when he attempted to pass two Public Works Roads Division employees working on the side of the road.  According to investigators, Jones swerved to avoid an oncoming vehicle and hit the two employees, which included Tatterson and 23-year-old Wade Pusey of Seaford, Del.

Tatterson was pronounced dead at the scene and Pusey sustained critical injuries, according to the sheriff's office.

Jones sustained non-life threatening injuries in the crash, according to the sheriff's office.

Prosecutors said they believe the charges filed against Jones were "appropriate" following a comprehensive investigation into the crash.
