Man Charged in Dover Home Invasion

DOVER, Del.- Dover police have arrested a 23-year-old man in connection with an early Sunday morning home invasion that left one person injured. 

According to police, Keontre Hynson was taken into custody Thursday evening while walking in the area of North New Street. He was charged with home invasion and second-degree assault and ordered held in default of $35,000 cash bond.

Police said that shortly after 2 a.m. Sunday, a 20-year-old man was holding a small gathering at his home on the 300 block of Fulton Street when Hynson walked in, uninvited. 

Investigators said Hynson struck the victim in the back of the head with a handgun and then fled the home. The victim was transported to Bayhealth Kent General Hospital for treatment of a cut to his head. 

Police did not indicate the motivation for the crime.
