SMYRNA, Del.- Two Smyrna residents were taken into custody following an investigation into heroin sales.

The Smyrna Police Department said 35-year-old Daron Huggins and 33-year-old Jennifer Reed were both arrested Friday, April 22 at a home in the 300 block of Normal Circle.

According to police, investigators used a search warrant to enter the home and discovered 322 bags of heroin weighing almost 4 grams, prescription drugs, drug materials and more than $2,900 in suspected drug money.

Police said the search and seizure warrant was served as part of an extensive investigation into heroin sales by Huggins and Reed.

Smyrna police said the pair was charged with Possession with Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance, 2nd Degree Conspiracy, Possession of a Controlled Substance without a Prescription and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Police said Huggins and Reed were presented via video court in front of Justice of the Peace court #2 on the previous charges.

According to police, Huggins was committed to the custody of the Dept. of Corrections in lieu of $54,000 cash bond.

Reed was released on $22,000 unsecured bond pending a future court hearing, police said.
